My nature (private) and the significance of this trip make it difficult for me to share much via blog. Thankful for this amazing opportunity and excited to share the next few weeks with open, bright and amazing young people. Shout out to Dr. Kwami who has worked exceedingly hard to make this trip a reality.
Pleasantly surprised? By the weather!!!! It’s been overcast the start of most days and we’ve enjoyed lovely breezes and even a little rain. I thought it would be unbearably hot.
Biggest challenge (to date)? Keeping sadness at bay. Processing the (ongoing?) damage done to the continent of Africa, her people, my ancestors, is at times very, very difficult…
